Bob Schul- 1986
- Won the gold medal at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo
for the United States in the 5000M

- One of only four American men to win a gold medal in a
race longer than 1500M and the only one to go into the race as a favorite
- In 1964 and ’65, his last two years of competition, he
broke five American recors and one World record
- After his international success Bob came to the local
area to share the knowledge he had gained:
- He was the coach at Wright State University form
1973-1978
- He is a frequent speaker at running clinics, schools,
and clubs throughout the area
- He is the coach and leader of the local Bob Schul
Racing Team where he lends his expertise willingly to national class
athletes as well as local runners
