Ken and Emelda Dahms- 1995
- Ken graduated form Oklahoma State University and Harvard
Law School, he started running as an US
Army Attaché, carrying the “pentagon
Papers” for Daniel Ellsburg
- He was a former high school state champion in Maryland
- He ran National class marathon times in his late ‘30’s:
- In 1983 at the age of 37 he ran a 2:28:14 in the
Boston Marathon and placed 77th overall in the 1985 Boston
Marathon at the age of 39
- He also ran a 2:33 in the New York City Marathon
- Ken and Emelda served as race directors during the
1980’s for Dayton’s Cystic Fibrosis 10K. They have both given many years of
service on the race committee for the Dayton River Corridor
- Ken’s “legal expertise” and Emelda’s “organizational and
personnel management skills” were the glue that kept the Dayton River Corridor
as a viable runner’s event
